Wisconsin Building Supply knows safety is paramount in the construction industry. Our series of entries, Understanding OSHA Regulations, provides resources explaining rules and guidelines meant to keep everyone safe on the job site. A crew from our Sussex lumber yard put those regulations into action last week during a unique delivery.
The Grafton Hotel building is 150 years old, and the owner plans to maintain its historic look while renovating the structure into a twenty-unit apartment building. There will be an addition on the back of the building. Before work on that new section can begin, Wisconsin Building Supply has to deliver the materials for the main building’s renovation.
Wisconsin Building Supply used a boom truck to deliver lumber to the upper floors of the hotel building. Workers took all the necessary precautions, including:
- Setting up caution tape and cones to block the area
- Wearing hard hats
- Using harnesses for fall protection
Wisconsin Building Supply will continue to keep safety in mind as crews deliver more materials for the project, including windows, doors and millwork.
