The Components Process at Wisconsin Building Supply

At the Wisconsin Building Supply Component Plant, we manufacture floor trusses, roof trusses and wall panels for all the WBS lumberyards.  From custom homes to commercial projects to do-it-yourself projects – we design and build for them all.

Here’s how the process works:

First, our experienced truss designers receive the plan from our sales staff.  The designer and salesperson go over the plan with the contractor to make sure they cover all the necessary information needed to come up with an accurate bid.   Sales takes the bid to the contractor, and if it meets expectations, it becomes a job.

The designer will make any necessary changes to the plan and send it to the plant to be built.  We have 54,000 square feet in our facility, housing six roof truss lines, two floor truss lines and two wall panel lines.  We use computerized saws and even laser technology.  That gives us accurate truss set-up and profiles.

After the job is built, our dispatcher sets up a delivery date. The floor trusses, roof trusses and wall panels will be loaded on our trucks, shipped to the site and rolled off.
